Been my go-to through marathon and ultra training. Easy to swallow, even when cold, all the flavors are pretty good (gin-sting is not my favorite tho), clear in case you burst one when packing things too tightly (have done!) so easy clean-up. I have never been in a race bonking or otherwise and thought, “I could just not stomach another one of these.” Package is easy to get open, so easy to open and shove back into pockets when empty (pack it in, pack it out). This product is great! I tried the Acai-Pomegranate variant at a Tough Mudder a couple years back and came around to running long distances this year and wanted an energy gel. This one is just the basic Honey Gold flavor, so it literally just seems like honey, so if you like honey flavor, you'll like this. When you take it with water, it mixes in and goes down super smooth. Only warning for any bearded friends out there... Do NOT spill it by missing your mouth. I had to try and wash my face with my water bottle since honey otherwise was goo'd up all in it. I suppose it goes for anyone else to just don't spill it, period. It's honey after all. Will definitely be ordering more once I burn through this pack though!
I have been training for my half marathon recently and found that my energy level has really decreased after my mile 9 - 10. I've read online that a Gel or Gu product really help to boost one energy for long run; but since I have a sensitive stomach, I have to do a little research for the best product. I've found that this honey stinger has raves review on boosting the energy during long run. I've used it several times during my training and actually use it for my race during my 7 - 8 miles before I've become fatigue and I did great on my race. No stomach issue and I felt great after the race. I would definitely recommend this product for any long distance runner.
Love the fruit smoothie flavor, mango flavor, and the chocolate flavors the best! Used these during my marathon training and in the marathon and did not have any stomach problems. The taste and texture is amazing (feels just like honey) and I did feel like it gave me the extra kick I needed during my runs. Not a fan of the acai-pomegranate flavor at all.
I discovered Honey Stinger energy gels and I don't know how I survived without them before. They are great tasting and doesn't require water to consume. I've used it for a multitude of activities from running, long tennis matches, to hiking and one packet of these can keep me going like I've found my second wind. It's a perfect size to fit in my running belt or Osprey hydration pack. I finish a box pretty quick (depending on what activities I have planned) so I have the box on subscription to get discounts as well - can't get a better deal than that!
