KMC X 8 Speed 116L Chain

KMC is my go to chain for all of my bikes. I have found the durability to be excellent, shifting is always fine with them, and they look nice. For 8 speed chains, it's hard to find a shiny silver finish, but KMC has that covered. Just keep it clean and it'll pay back in dividends.
On my Brompton, this chain has lasted twice as long as the OEM Brompton chains, which I found wore out unacceptably quickly.

I use this chain with my internally geared 8 speed comfort bike. I replace the chain whenever I replace the rear tire which is normally after 2 years. The KMC website mentions the chain is ideal for internally geared hubs and I would have to agree. I have to remove links out of this chain for a correct fit and the provided Missing Link can make the final connection easy. When the front and rear chain sprockets are in good shape this chain is very smooth and quiet, even with the lowest gear on the steepest hills. I lube the chain a couple times a month using DuPont Teflon Chain-Saver. A great chain at great price.

Put on a new, larger cassette on my road bike. The old, worn, came-with-the-bike chain did not like the new cassette. Lots of vibrations and didn't shift smoothly.
Threw this KMC on there and my road bike runs smooth like butter. Plus the nickel plating looks nice against my black sprocket.

This chain has been a great upgrade. It looks great, it's easy to clean with a degreaser like Simple Green, and stays very quiet when properly lubricated.
I run it on a 1x7 commuter gearset, with Shimano HG50 freewheel and Sora derail. Shifts fast and smooth. Never skips or slips.

Amazing what this chain did for shifting on a 21 speed bike. Have Shimano Deore front and rear derailleurs with trigger shifters and this chain makes the shifts lightning fast. No jumping teeth, chatter or hunting for the gear, just shifts fast both up and down. And the nickle plate makes the chain look pretty cool too!
BTW, The X8.99 chain replaced a KMC Z72 chain that came on my new Raleigh after about 3 weeks of use. The X8.99 Rocks!
